Adeline Tafoya Chavez, 74, St. Johns, died in Lakeside, Feb. 7, 2006.
She was born July 18, 1931 in St. Johns to Carlos and Agripina Tafoya.
Adeline was a waitress and a great homemaker. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed playing bingo and poker. Adeline married Horace P. Chavez in 1955. They were blessed with three sons, Greg Sr. and (Lillian) Chavez, St. Johns, Lloyd and (Michelle) Chavez, Globe, and Luke and (Carla) Chavez, Safford; one daughter, Bernadette Chavez.
Adeline is survived by her sons, nine grandchildren 15 great grandchildren and a sister, Pricilla Romero, Springerville.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, her daughter, Bernadette; brothers, Sabino Tafoya and Ben Tafoya; and one sister, Emma Angeles.
A Rosary was held Feb. 9, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, St. Johns and a funeral mass was held Feb. 10 also at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church.
Burnham Mortuary, St. Johns, handled the arrangements.
