Robert A. Shafer, 90, formerly of 224 N, Fourth St., Upper Sandusky, died at 12:45 p.m. Jan 10, 1993, in Wyandot County Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky, where he resided for the past two years.

He was born July 31, 1902, in Tymochtee Township, Wyandot County, to the late Clinton and Mary Ann Courtad Shafer. He was married Dec. 25, 1922 to Eva G. Brown, who died Sept. 9, 1988.

Surviving him are two sons, Minor "Bud" Shafer of Findlay and Robert Shafer Jr. of Marion, two daughters, Alice Ferguson of Westminister, Colo., and Mrs. Don (Mary Ann) Heinlen of Bucyrus, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Harry and William, and a grandchild.

Mr. Shafer retir4ed from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier and clerk after 41 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus Council 2050, Upper Sandusky, where he was Grand Knight in 1931.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Upper Sandusky. The Rev. William Bodart will officiate with burial in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Bringman and Co. Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Biblical services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
