"She was born in Old Edgefield District in South Carolina. When the Old Edgefield District was broken into counties, where she lived changed to Saluda County. She lived to be 87 years old and was very active even at her advanced age. She visited her son and her grandchildren on a regular basis. They (my uncles) remembered her very well. She was described as always being a strong woman and standing her ground. After Ezekiel T. Corley (her husband) died, she never remarried. She ran her farm by herself and had her dog with her everywhere. My aunt described her as a "firecracker"." from Melinda Mashburn
