SALISBURY - Ruth Kirby Bounds, 80, of Salisbury died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Kitzmiller, Md., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Elsie Clem Kirby Her first husband, Howard Neil Sturgis, preceded her in death in 1977.
Mrs. Bounds was a member of Gunby United Presbyterian Church in Stockton. She was an excellent seamstress, avid bowler and loved to travel. She was most recently director and treasurer of Pittsville Motors.
She is survived by her husband, Eldred L. Bounds of Salisbury; three daughters and their husbands, Elsie and Donald Par-sons and Beverly and Donald Bowen, all of Salisbury, and Rosalie and Jim Brittingham of Sign Post, Va.; two stepchildren and their spouses, Ellen and Robert Owens of Delmar and Donald and Debbie Bounds of Pittsville; five sisters, Beryl Wilson of Arizona, Margie Shaia of Ohio, Jean Ray of Pennsylvania, Louise Becker of Washing-ton, D.C., and Shirley Boyce of
Colonial Heights, Va.; six grand-children, Donna Nock, Kimberly Jones, Donald Bowen, David Bowen, Julie Brignac and Shannon Sirman; five step-grandchildren, Lori Owens, Rob Owens, Jodi Bounds, Richard Bounds and Angela Bounds; four great-grandchildren, Kevin Nock, Morgan Nock, Amanda Jones and Zachary Jones; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Neil Sturgis, and a brother, Shannon Kirby.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The Rev Debra Latture will officiate. Interment will be in Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.
