Henry Francis Fenske, age 93, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, in Boise, Idaho.
He was born March 22, 1907, near Randolph, the son of Henry Andrew and Lillie Niedermeyer Fenske. He spent his childhood there and on a farm near Menomonie and attended local schools. He attended college at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and spent several years teaching and farming.
He was married to Rachel Elizabeth Beard on Dec. 28, 1944. They lived for several years on a farm near Elk Mound and in Eau Claire where he farmed and worked for the Eau Claire Ice and Fuel Co. In 1952, the family moved to Mason, Mich., where he worked for the Thorburn Lumber and Coal Co. After coming to Boise in 1960, he worked for Boise Cascade until his retirement in 1972.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Boise.
He is survived by his wife; a brother, E.C. Fenske, and a sister, Janet Wold, both of Wisconsin; two daughters, Ruth E. Fenske of Cleveland, Ohio, and Bertie Mary Kelvie (Dennis) of Caldwell; a son, Henry F. Fenske (Valerie) of Boise; three grandsons; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise. Services were under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
