Published in the Saginaw (MI) News, Saturday, 23 Feb 1895, pg. 7 (Index lists spelling of surname Becker).
"Anthony Becker [sic] died at the residence of his son, Anthony Becker [sic], Jr., at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon of old age. He was 95 years of age Jan. 1. Funeral tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock."

"KOCHVILLE. Feb. 26 - [Special.] - Kochville has lost one of its oldest pioneers in the death of Mr. Anthony Becker [sic], aged 95 years. He came from Germany in 1848 and settled in Detroit in 1849, moving to Saginaw in 1861. He leaves three sons, Fred. Becker [sic], of Saginaw, W. S., and Anthony Becker [sic], Jr., and William Becker [sic], of Kochville, the old gentleman died on Feb. 22, and at the same hour there was an increase in the family of one of his grandchildren. The funeral of old Mr. Becker [sic] was largely attended at the German M. E. church on Sunday afternoon."
NOTE: Obituary lists 3 sons - then lists Fred. , W. S., and Anthony Jr., and William. I am guessing W. S. and William are the same son.

This is part of a story at ancestry.com about the name "In 1852 Anthony William and his wife Elizabeth came to the United States. Their original name was either Weidenholtz or Hieslemann. They had inherited an estate and by German tradition took the name of the estate, which was Büker; translated in English, Bueker or Beeker . . . "
