Drowned, when pinned within their coupe when it landed upside down in the southfork of the Clearwater river, Mr. and Mrs. P.E. Woodruff, Grangeville lost their lives in an unusual accident that occurred sometime sometime between midnight Sunday and daylight Monday morning. Their bodies were taken from the car and brought to Grangeville.
Woodruff, for years associated with the forest service, was camp superintendent of Camp Red River of the CCC. When a child, he lost an arm in a railroad accident . He is survived by a mother and two sisters at Wenatchee. Mrs. Woodruff's relatives reside at Grangeville.
