Allen L. Sims, a retired SEPTA mechanic, died July 13 at home.
Born in Phiadelphia, Mr. Sims was a resident of Darby for more than 50 years. He was a mechanic in SEPTA's P & W car shop for more than 25 years. Mr. Sims was a custodian for Leedom Elementary School for 11 years. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Darby, and the son of the late Allen and Anna Sims.
Survivors: Wife; Georgia L. Childs Sims; sons, Allen W. Sims, of Collingdale, Larry D. Sims of Darby; daughter, Sharon L. Korab of Sharon Hill; sisters, Clara Starkey and Jean Thompson, both of Vancouver, Wash; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
Services 11 a.m. Monday, All Saints Episcopal Church, Main and Summit Streets, Darby.
Burial: Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Marple.
Visitation: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, Marvil Funeral Home, 1110 Main St., Darby
