Georgia's mother died when she was 13 and she raised her younger siblings, as her father never remarried. She met and married Joe Wilson in Cisco, TX and they had many children and a very happy life together.

Around 1910, she scandalized the town ladies by purchasing and wearing red nail polish. She attested that she liked the way her nails look when she knitted!

Called "Momama" by her grandchildren, in the 1950's her health began failing and she went to live in Roscoe, TX with her daughter Laura Fay. She died of colon cancer.
