Ruth N. Durham, 88, of Indiana 9 died at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
She attended East Columbus Christian Church.
Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Mike Gillespie officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Rockcreek Elementary School.
Born in North Vernon March 21, 1911, Mrs. Durham was the daughter of George and Blanche McLaughlin Day. She married Ellis "Shorty" Durham May 12, 1928. He died Oct. 26, 1986.
Surviving are sons, Dale Durham of Seymour and Bobby Durham of Brownsville, Texas; daughters, Norma Allman, Janet Pardieck and Mary Jane Hooker, all of Columbus, and Rae Marie Beesley of Upland, Calif.; brothers, Kenneth Day of Columbus and Glenn Day of North Vernon; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
