Fulton Daily Sun Gazette-1967:

Santa's Helpers, members of the VFW Auxiliary, met at the VFW Hall to pack and wrap Christmas boxes for all the men serving overseas with the Armed Forces.

Each box included two wash cloths, cigarettes, a handkerchief, a tooth brush, tooth paste , chewing gum, two paperback books, candy, a deck of cards, Kleenex, deodorant, a comb, shoe strings, a ball point pin, writing paper and peanuts.

Wrapping packages are Mrs. O.G. Beaver, Mrs. H. Meuth, Mrs. L. Miller, Mrs. H. Page and Mrs. M. Lorenz.

Mrs. Beulah "Babe" M. Beaver, 89, of Fulton, Missouri died Friday, April 3, 2009.
She was born July 22, 1919, the daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth Hill Custard. On November 3, 1940 she married Orris G. "Bugs" Beaver. He preceded her in death November 20, 1968.

Two sons, Larry (Stephany) Beaver of Osage Beach, Missouri and David (Marie) Beaver of Fulton, Missouri survive her. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kelly (Ted) Rowland of Kansas City, Missouri, Corey (Nicole) Beaver of Prarie Village, Kansas, Brooke (Tony) Hartman of Fulton, Missouri and Darren Beaver of Fulton, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren, Tate, Maggie and Hayes Rowland, Grace and Ellie Beaver and Aston and Davis Hartman, also a number of nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband one brother and one sister proceeded her in death.

Babe was employed at Fulton State Hospital as supervisor of clothing and supply department for 27 years, until her retirement. She loved sports, bowling, The Fulton Hornets, Missouri University Tigers and Kansas City Chiefs. She was a member of the Fulton Womens Bowling Leaque for 50 years and in 1980 was elected to Fulton Womens Bowling Hall of Fame. In 1989 she recieved the Booster Club award from Fulton High School Athletics. She was Grand Marshall of the Fulton Home Coming Parade in 1990. She was a charter member of American Business Womens association and was named woman of the year in 1983. She was also a member of Callaway Hospital and the Court Street Methodist Church. She was especially active with the annual Methodist Church Bazarre and donated a handmade quilt every year for 45 years.

Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Brother Steve Mallinckrodt and Reverand Diana Loomis officiating.

Visitation on Monday April 6, 2009 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the funeral home.

Interment at Callaway Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Columbia, to Court Street Methodist Church or Fulton High School Athletic Department.
