ROSSVILLE -- Belva Lou Langston, 85, of Rossville, died at 10:48 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Central.

Born Sept. 12, 1924, in Frankfort, she was the daughter of Alva and Cleo Blystone Louks.

On Sept. 1, 1940, she married Raymond R. Langston in Florence, Ky., and he preceded her in death on May 28, 2000.

Mrs. Langston was employed for 13 years as L.C. line operator for P.R. Mallory in Frankfort, owned and operated Langston Tavern and Restaurant in Rossville, and during the winters worked for Snooks Inn and later the Oyster Bar restaurants in Matlacha, Fla. She and her husband had wintered in Matlacha since 1980. She had lived in Clinton County all her life and in Rossville since 1942.

She was a member of Geetingsville Presbyterian Church and also attended Rossville Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge, both in Matlacha, and was past mother advisor for Rainbow Assembly 9 in Rossville and first chapter mother of the Rossville High School F.H.A.

Surviving are a son, Richard L. Langston (companion: Nina Rogers) of Frankfort; two daughters, Frances Haan (husband: Donald) of Oklahoma City and Debby Hodson (husband: Phil) of Flora; and a sister, Wilma Parnell of Lafayette.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Norman; a granddaughter and 4 sisters.
