LE CENTER — Michael John Anderson, age 72, of Le Center, died at his home on Friday, December 10, 2010.
Visitation will be held at Le Center Funeral Home on Monday, December 13 from 3:00-8:00 p.m..
The funeral service will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery in Le Center with Military Honors Provided by the Le Center Area Veteran's Honor Guard.
Mike was born on May 15, 1938, in St. Peter to Dudley and Evelyn (Janda) Anderson. He graduated from Le Center High School then attended Mankato State University. He served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1959. Mike was united in marriage to Dorothy David at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery on September 19, 1959. He worked as a self-employed painter for 49 years. He was a member of the Le Center VFW. He served on the Le Center School Board and Fire Department. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed playing cards, fishing, spending time at the cabin and Harley riding.
Mike is survived by his wife Dorothy; four sons, Jerry & Lori Anderson of New Prague, Todd & Dee Dee Anderson of Savage, Kent & Shari Anderson of Kent, Michigan, and Chad & Tammy Anderson of Le Center; daughter, Carrie & Jack Hendrickson of Lihue, Hawaii; 10 grandchildren, Samantha, Amanda, Tressa, Julia, Jenessa, Gage, Jace, Ashley, Ali and Sam; three sisters, Nancy Anderson of Mankato, Mary Ellen Anderson of Andover, and Ava Blum of Maple Grove; and brother, Daniel Anderson of Bloomington.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gerald Anderson.
