S. E. Ragsdale, 76, of 214 1/2 Cisco, member of one of Texas' oldest families and a retired employee of the Texas & Pacific Railway after 40 years' service, died Monday in a local hospital.

He was born at Millville, no longer listed as a town, to parents who were born in Texas when it was a Republic. He was graduated from Southwestern University at Georgetown. Mr. Ragsdale joined the Texas & Pacific 46 years ago and came to their general offices in Dallas in 1912. He was retired six years ago.

Survived by his wife; two sisters, Miss Belle Ragsdale, and Mrs. J. R. Bradfield, Dallas; and one brother, A. K. Ragsdale, San Antonio.

Services will be Tuesday. Burial in Oakland Cemetery.
