FRANK BAPTIST OF CITY TAKES BRIDE IN ITALY
Word has been received by Mrs. Ethel Baptist, northwest of the city, that her son, Frank, was united in marriage on Sunday, Nov. 2nd., to Miss Pierina Baglioni of Leghorn, Italy. The ceremony was performed in the town the bride lives in, located north of Rome. The couple first met five years ago when Miss Baglioni served as a guide on a sightseeing trip that Baptist was taking in that part of Italy that the bride lived in. Miss Baglioni speaks English and was able to engage in that type of work. Mr. Baptist, serving with the Navy, saw his future wife many times as his ship touched port near Leghorn several times since their acquaintance began. Baptist is a machinist in the Navy and has served twelve years. He is now a Chief Petty Officer in his division and serves aboard the U.S.S. Damato. This ship, with others, has been on maneuvers recently in the Mediterranean waters. It will return to home port at Norfolk, Va., in December. Mrs. Baptist will remain at her home in Italy to await action of permits and necessary papers that will allow her to enter the United States. After these arrangements are made the couple will make their home at Norfolk, Va.
