Marjorie M. Sons Anderson 1922-2010
EARLVILLE — Marjorie M. Sons Anderson, 88, of Earlville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, at Heritage Manor in Mendota.
She was born May 8, 1922, in Tonica, the daughter of Nicholas and Christina (Ballensiffer) Schmitz. She married Ira Jack Sons on July 26, 1941, and later following his death, she married Herbert Anderson on Feb. 28, 1976, in Tiskilwa.
She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Earlville. Before retiring, Marge worked at Marathon Electric in Earlville.
She is survived by her seven children, Kenneth (Karen) Sons of Tonica, James L. (Nola) Sons of Ashland, Miss., Kathleen (Robert) Clark of Golden, Colo., Michael (Suzanne) Sons of Davis, Ill., Stephen (Mary) Sons of Earlville, Sandra (Tammy Paul) Sons of Highland, Ind., and Cindy (Steve) Wilson of Warrenville, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Funfsinn of Mendota.
Marge was preceded in death by both of her husbands; her parents; one grandson, Duane Sons; and two sisters, Mildred Goodbred and Bernice Hudak.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 221 Union St., in Earlville, with the Rev. Chris G. Haake officiating. Entombment will follow at Forrest Lawn Memory Garden in La Salle. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the church with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation also will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
