Elsie Daily Black, 74, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at Russellville Hospital.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, in the chapel. Officiating will be Brother Grady Parrish. Burial will follow at Belgreen Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Black; son, David Black; daughter-in-law, Wanda Black; parents, William and Lillian Daily; brother, Clifton Daily; sisters, Polly Landers and Christine Castleberry.
She is survived by her sons, Joe Black (wife, Joyce), Wayne Black, Danny Black (wife, Vickie); daughter-in-law, Julie Black, all of Russellville; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; family and friends too numerous to list.
Elsie was born Aug. 19, 1935, in Franklin County. She was a member of Frankfort Missionary Baptist Church. She was retired from Riverbend Center for Mental Health as a cook for Sunrise Lodge. Elsie lived life sharing her love for gardening, cooking and quilting with her family and friends.
She was a loving mother and Momaw to many. Elsie will dearly be missed by all who were blessed to call her friend.
