SHERMAN - Services for Earline Beard, 81-year-old Sherman resident, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 2010 at Harmony Baptist Church in Sherman. Mrs. Beard passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at her residence. Rev. Clifton Eaton, pastor, will officiate and Bishop Larry Goodman will be the eulogist. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Beard was born on Feb. 12, 1929 in New Mexico, daughter of Lewis and Marie Ferguson. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1947, in Tulsa, Okla. She married Fred Beard in Sherman and he preceded her in death.
She retired from Texas Instruments after 25 years. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and served with the Missionary Society, Pastors Aid, Ushers Board and the City Wide Ushers. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association.
Earline is survived by her daughter, Dianna Ferguson of Moorpark, Calif.; son, Larry Lewis of Tulsa, Okla.; sisters, Cecilia Lewis and Patricia Lewis, both of Tulsa; brothers, Raymond Ferguson, Sydney Lewis, Edward Lewis and James Lewis, all of Tulsa, and Eugene Lewis of Wichita, Kan.; and grandchildren, Austin Edmonson and Bailey Edmonson.
Public viewing be at Angelic Mortuary in Sherman on Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Final viewing will be at the church from 9:30 until 11 a.m. Saturday.
