Ellwood City - Mrs. Ruth E. Foreman, 80, of 215 1/2 Circle Way, died at 2:15 p.m. Jan. 16, 1977. om Suburban Manor Nursing Hme in New Castle, after a three-year illness.
She was born in Wayne Township, Lawrence County on May 24, 1896, to the late Calvin and Etta Wimer McMunn. She was employed at the former U.S. Steel plant in Ellwood City, during World War II, and was employed in the Housekeeping department of Ellwood City Hospital for 10 years.
Her husband Frank E. Foreman died in 1972. She is survived by six sons, Gerald E., Merle E., and Raymond E., all three of Ellwood City, Ralph L. of Castlewood, Russell F. of New Castle, and Earl L. of Virginia Beach, Va.; five daughters, Mrs. Jacob (Marion) Blinn, Mrs. Lawrence (Etta) Hall, Mrs. Donald (Elma Jean) Lambright, and Mrs. Gladys Peffer, all four of Ellwood City, and Mrs. George (Alice) Baker of Wampum; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Schultz and Miss Belle McMunn, both of Ellwood City; 44 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister Mrs. Grace Farley; three brothers, Elmer McMunn, Ralph McMunn, and Paul McMunn.
Friends will be received at the Kenneth C. Turner Funeral Home, 500 Sixth St., from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. The service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Arthur Flick of the United Brethern Church. Burial will be in Slippery Rock United Presbyterian Cemetery.
