MANKATO — June Hubmer, age 88, of Mankato died Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 15, 2010 at Hilltop United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Vanderwerf officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in St. Clair. Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Cemetery in St. Clair.

June Anita Hubmer was born June 6, 1922, to Agon and Mable (Polzin) Mohlke in Rochester MN. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1940. June married Pershing Hubmer on March 21, 1941, in Mankato. They farmed on their rural St. Clair farm until they retired. June was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in St. Clair, where she was active in Ladies Aid, the church choir and sang Alto in Duets. June was a member of the St. Clair PTA and various organizations. She loved animals, especially her chickens and cats. June and Pershing enjoyed spending their winters in Apache Junction, AZ. In 2007, she moved from the farm to Keystone Community, Mankato, Oak Terrace Assisted Living, North Mankato, and Benedictine Living Community, St. Peter.

June is survived by her 4 sons: Duane (Gloria) and Roger (Dawn) of St. Clair, David of Eagle Lake, and Bruce (Ann) of North Mankato; grandchildren: Jeff, Steve, Marcus, Amelia, Paul, and Laura Hubmer, Michelle Larsen, Melissa Herman, Carrie Olfert; 9 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Lois Rosania

June was preceded in death by her brothers, Arnold and Marvin, who died in their youth, and husband, Pershing in 1996.
