This Memorial was erected to commemorate the Union Soldiers and Sailors of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, in the War of the Rebellion from 1861 to 1865. The four interior walls are lined with beautifully colored marble tablets on which are engraved the names of the ten thousand of Cuyahoga County brave sons who were willing to risk their all for their country. The Memorial was dedicated July 4, 1894. The approximate cost was $280,000. Original in design and detail, it carries out the active scenes and incidences of the Civil War.
