William Earl (Tooter) Robinson, age 77, a lifetime resident of Sturgeon, died at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, late Monday night, February 6, 1989, where he had been a patient only a few hours. Mr. Robinson had been ill for several years. He was born September 30, 1911, in Sturgeon to the late James Elmer and Mary Ellen Robinson. He was married to Ruth Mildred Roberts, July 18, 1936 and they had celebrated 52 years of marriage. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James (Earlene) Watkins, New London, MO; and one son James Robinson, Sturgeon, MO. Nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren and one step-grandson also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, William A. (Bill) Robinson, in 1987. Twin brothers and one sister preceded him in infancy. In 1960 he retired from the G.M.O. Railroad and then several years later retired from painting. He was a member of the Sturgeon Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday February 9, 2 p.m. at the Meador and Son Chapel in Sturgeon, with Rev. Nate Kohl officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Sturgeon. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 p.m. until time of ___. The family will receive friends ____ to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Horeb Cemetery Fund, Sturgeon.
