William Fender Dies; Funeral Held Tuesday
William Fender, 58, a cook who had worked in Gila Bend for the past five years, died Friday in a Phoenix nursing home.
Graveside services were held Tuesday at Louis B. Hazelton Memorial cemetery in Buckeye.
Mr. Fender was born in Oklahoma and came to Arizona 30 years ago. He had worked at Hutch's and the Shell Truck Stop here before his last illness, after working in numerous other Arizona towns.
He is survived by a brother, Harold Fender, and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Flanery, both of Tracy, California.
