Mrs. E. Carolyne Dodson, 92, passed away Friday, Oct. 29. 2010, at a local nursing home. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with burial to follow in the Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Bellmead Funeral Home.
Carolyne was born in Jefferson County, Misssouri, to the late Jasper and Nellie Alice (Cisco) Webster. Her family moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma, soon after her birth, where she was raised and educated. On July 15, 1935, she married Carl Edward Dodson in Wagoner, Oklahoma. They made their home in Muskogee until relocating to Bellmead, Texas, in 1959. She worked for Green's LaVega Pharmacy for many years. She started as a waitress behind the fountain and then as a cashier, but her favorite was ordering and arranging the greeting cards. After retirement, Carolyne and her husband moved to a small farm in Axtell where they raised an assortment of animals. She loved babies, photos, pets, and being outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; a grandson, Bryan; sisters, Artie and Billie; and brothers: Cecil, Doc and Raymond.
Survivors include her daughters: Delores Dieman and husband, Wendell, Wanda Green and husband, Jerry, and Norma Menefee and husband, Joe; sons: Doug Dodson and wife, Jackie, Carl Ryan and wife, Leslie, and Dean Dodson and wife, Charlene; grandchildren: Mark and Cindy Dieman, Diane Harris, Kelly and Jimmie Fleetwood, Lt. Colonel, USAF (Ret.) Doug Dodson Jr. and wife, Gail, Dr. Sherry Dodson, DVM, Angie Gohring and husband, Charlie, Christie Roush, Russell Dodson and Robert and Trish Dodson; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
