--HAGERSTOWN,MARYLAND -- William Henry Barber Jr., 63, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born Saturday, Dec. 14, 1946, in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of William H. Barber Sr. and the late Jane Elliott Barber.

He was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was employed with Vallen Safety for many years.

He was a member of the Williamsport and Greencastle American Legions, Red Men of Williamsport, B.P.O. Elks Lodge 378, V.F.W. Post 1936 and was a Mason with the Hagerstown Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by three sons, William H. Barber III and wife, Kim, of Waynesboro, Pa., Brian T. Barber and wife, Marisol, of Boiling Springs, Pa., and David J. Barber and wife, Nikki, of Martinsburg; special friend, Bonnie Elaine Thomas of Hagerstown; three brothers, Tim Barber of Hagerstown, George Barber of Cumberland, Md., and Jimmy Barber of Hagerstown; 11 grandchildren, Samantha Barber, Valerie Barber, Jessica Barber, Brandon Barber, Matthew Barber, Melanie Barber, Cole Barber, Destiny Mills, Jenna Stran, Koby Hoff, and Thomas Kline and wife, Samantha; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Danny and Benny Barber.

Services will be Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at 11 a.m. from Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Jacqueline A. Miller officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28.

Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, Md.
