Anthol W Riney was the eldest son of John Beed & Corinne (Pierce) Riney. He married Bessie Elizabeth Christensen, June 23, 1942 in Maricopa County, Arizona. Following service in the South Pacific during World War II as a B-24 bomber pilot, Anthol worked as the Marion County Extension Agent and later for the US State Department as an Agriculture Officer with foreign postings to Suriname, Iran, India and Turkey.

RINEY - Anthol Wayne Riney of 11212 Highway 36 Mapleton, passed away in Eugene May 15, 1981, at the age of 63. He was born October 4, 1917, in Pratt, Kansas. He married Bessie Christensen in Phoenix, Arizona, June 23, 1942. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Chris Riney of Springfield and Dan Riney of Germany; a brother, Albert Riney of Arlington, Oregon; 3 grandchildren: Jeff, Jason and Elizabeth. He had been a resident of Mapleton since 1971. Private funeral services were held and cremation took place at POOLE-LARSEN CREMATORIUM. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to the Oregon State 4-H Club Foundation, Oregon State University, 105 Extension Hall, Corvallis, Oregon, 97330.
