Mrs. Louise S. Babcock, 67, widow of the late Ralph M. Babcock of Moline, died at 10 a.m. today in her home at 1909 Fifteenth street A., Moline, after an illness of three weeks.

Mrs. Babcock whose maiden name was Louise Silvis, was born in Silvis Sept. 20, 1865, her home being located on the site where the Silvis shops now stand. The city of Silvis was named after her family who lived there before it was laid out many years ago.

She married Ralph M. Babcock at Silvis March 12, 1884 (sic). He died Feb. 11 last. Mrs. Babcock was a member of the Christian church. The couple lived on a farm adjoining the Moline airport for 40 years and they retired eight years ago and moved to Moline.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Crockett of Moline; three sons, Milton, John and Ralph Babcock, all of Moline; a brother, R. S. Silvis of Rock Island, and two grandchildren, William Keene Crockett and Jack Babcock.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Knox funeral home with Rev. W. B. Slater, pastor of the First Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery, Rock Island.
