George D. Garriott
MONTICELLO — George D. Garriott, 60,
Mulberry, died at 12:20 a.m. Saturday
in Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been
ill three years.
He was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Jasper
County, to Hurby and Lillie Hurley
Garriott. He was married Sept. 29,
1973, to Lois M. Arnett, who died in
1981. He was married in 1983 to Frances
Golden, who survives.
He was a retired employee of White County Memorial Hospital.
He previously had been employed by Peerless
Wire Company, Lafayette, and by Mulberry Elementary School.
He had lived in Mulberry for the past two
years and in Monticello for the previous
10 years.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Bruce
M., Lafayette; two stepdaughters, Merry M. Villars, Logansport, and Pansy Luper,
Tennessee; five stepsons, Jerry D. Luper, Springfield, 111.; Michael E. Luper, Callao,
Mo.; Fred Roach, Lafayette, and George Golden
Jr. and Jeff Golden, both of Mulberry; three sisters, Orabelle Pribie and Letha Steiner,
both of Lafayette, and Eleanor Miller, St.
Helen Mich.; six brothers, Arlon, Howard, Lawrence, David and Hurby, all of Lafayette,
and Burgin, Mulberry; and 13 grandchildren.
A son preceded in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m.Tuesday in
Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home. Burial will
be in Bedford Cemetery near Monon.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
