COOKEVILLE – Funeral services for Neil "Bud" Denton Alcorn Sr., 67, of Cookeville will be held Friday, February 10, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home. Burial will be in
Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Alcorn was dead on arrival at Cookeville General Hospital on Wednesday, February 8, 1995.

He was born February 16, 1927, in Putnam County to Mabel Medley Alcorn of Buffalo Valley and the late Thuman Denton (T.D.) Alcorn.

A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he was a retired mechanic with the U.S. Corps of Engineers and a member of Buffalo Valley Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his mother, his family includes his wife, Margaret Mary Pendergrass Alcorn of Cookeville (wed 1991); two sons, Neil Denton Alcorn Jr. of Cookeville and Garry Dale Alcorn of Memphis; two sisters, Peggy Burton
of Clinton and Ada Faye Tucker of Gainesboro; and two grandsons, Micheal and Phillip Alcorn.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Katie Belle Hall Alcorn.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Neal, Kenneth Burgess, Ernest Jones, Vernon D. Oliver, Martin and Mike Medley, Ronald Hall, Bill Oneal, Ernest Sadler and Walter Warren Shanks.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dr. Wesley Henry will officiate at the services.
