Ivy Wesley Wisenbaker was born Dec. 29, 1936 in Lake Park, Lowndes County, Georgia. He was the fifth child born to Louis Byrd Wisenbaker and Cuba Carter Wisenbaker. When he was two years old, the family moved to the Ousley section of Lowndes County. He grew up on the farm and near the river and he developed the love of fishing and he never lost it.
He moved to Florida and married Edna Gail Coffee. They had four children: William Paul, Allison Leigh, John Wesley and Megan Amelia. His wife Gail died in 1991 and he moved back to Georgia with his two daughters and lived next to the old home place where he grew up as a child. He helped to care for his ailing Father, Louis Byrd Wisenbaker who passed away in 1992. Wesley hinself became sick in 1996 and was found to have the dreaded disease of cancer. He passed away on Sept. 4, 1996. His four children were with him at the time of his passing. He was survived by his four children,one Grandson, his Mother, three brothers and two sisters.
Wesley was buried next to his wife Gail at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Madison, Florida.

Wesley's son John passed away in July 2003.
