He was survived by his wife Bersabe Atencio; four sons: Elias of Dixon, Gabriel of Ranchitos, Eugene of Santa Fe, and Amado of the home; three brothers Quirino Ignacio of Dixon, Jose I. of Santa Fe, and Porfirio of California; two sisters Carolina Jimenez of Santa Fe, and Isabel Mascareñas of Dixon; 9 grandchildren; and many other relatives.
Funeral services were held 14 January 1984 at the Church of Jesus Christ in Apodaca. Burial followed in the Apodaca Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mauricio Sanchez, Jerry Atencio, Robert Jimenez, Ronnie Atencio, Gabriel Atencio, and Wayne Archuleta.
