Nina Christine Fletcher Bowen

Nina Christine Fletcher Bowen, 64, passed away early Monday morning, November 24, 2003, at her residence following a long illness. A native of Pavo, GA, she had lived in Savannah for twenty-seven years before moving to Pierce County over two years ago.

She was a housewife, enjoyed fishing and was of the Church of God faith.

She was a daughter of the late Clayton and Jessie Swain Fletcher and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Schuyler.

Survivors are her husband, Gene Bowen of Blackshear; a daughter, Charlene Carter of Waycross; a son-n-law, Charles Schuyler of Waycross; two sisters, Verna Mae (Preacher) Thrift and Clara (Bud) Hendrix all of Waycross; two brothers, Wilburn (Mable) Fletcher of Waycross and L. C. (Shirley) Fletcher of Savannah; seven grandchildren, Jessica Schuyler, Alex Schuyler, John Brian Schuyler, Samantha Schuyler, Shane Carter and Ramey Carter all of Waycross and Chris Carter of Jacksonville; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside services for Mrs. Bowen will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at 11 a.m. from the Blackshear Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Larry Hughes.

Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home of Blackshear is in charge of arrangements.
