GREENWOOD, LA - Graveside services for Mable Lenora Thompson Bonds, 90, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Restland Cemetery in Waskom, TX. Officiating will be Rev. Ed Bowman. Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Rose-Neath's Funeral Home, Southside.

Mable was born on June 21, 1920 in Scottsville TX to Wesley and Madell Thompson. She passed away on September 26, 2010 in Shreveport.

She was a resident of Greenwood, LA where she was a homemaker. She was a life long member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waskom, TX. She was a Sunday school teacher, Cub Scout Den Mother and PTA President. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She shined so bright as our mother and her light grew even stronger as May May.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Albert Reid Bonds and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Robert D. Bonds; daughter, Andrea Bonds Knapp and husband, Jay; grandchildren, Sara Kathryn Bonds and Justin Smith, Benjamin Reid Bonds and Ashleigh Pearce, Matt and Lisa Trumbo, Samantha Knapp and Brook Bonner; great-grandchildren, Mason, Trenton, Ava, Trevor, Laney, and Brooke; sister, Delphine Waller; brother, Tommy Thompson; other grandson, Jason Phillips; her very special and youngest friend, Christian Nixon and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Underwood, Laura in ICU and Jill on the 7th floor at Schumpert Medical Center and all the staff and volunteers at Grace Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Waskom, Box 667, Waskom, TX, 75692 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
