In the fall of 1892 Mary and William came to Oklahoma Territory with a team of horses and a covered wagon with five small children aboard. Six more children were born to them on the farm they homesteaded in N. Keokuk Twp. Lincoln Co. Will was a successful farmer as well as a prominent churchman. He was an elder in the Church of God in Stroud and also served as a district officer for many years in this denomination. In June of 1926 oil was discovered on the Earp farm.
