Clarence Ira Heatwole, of Barwick, Ont., passed into his eternal reward on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 at the age of 68 years, five months, and five days after a prolonged illness.
He was born April 6, 1942, in North Lawrence, Ohio to the late Gabriel and Ada (Eberly) Heatwole.
On June 15, 1963, he was united in marriage with Alma Margaret Smith of Markham, Ont. In April, 1965, they moved to Rainy River District.
They enjoyed more than 47 years together.
Clarence is survived by his beloved wife and eight children, Glenn (Judy) of Hitchins, Kentucky, Melvin (Miriam) of Stratton, Ont., Keith (Rosanna) of Barwick, Ont., Robert (Maxine) of Barwick, Ont., Doris of Barwick, Ont., Vernon (Rachel) of Rosthern, Sask., Esther (Timothy) Gerber of Kenabeek, Ont., and Ruth (Russel) Steiner of Barwick, Ont.
He also is survived by 28 grandchildren; and two brothers, Myron (Edith) of North Lawrence, Ohio and Wayne (Margaret) of Rosthern, Sask.
He was predeceased by one son, Philip; two grandsons; three brothers; and two sisters.
In his youth, Clarence accepted Christ as his Saviour and was baptized into the Mennonite Church. At the time of his passing, he was a faithful member and beloved brother of the Pineview Mennonite Church in Barwick.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at the Barwick Hall, with interment in Pineview Cemetery.
