She was the daughter of Swedish parents Peter Anderson and Bengta Christina Nilsson. Phillippa married John Henry Kiernan on Jan 6,1872 in Bullionville, Lincoln County, NV. She was a Morman pioneer who traveled along with her mother and sister with the Peter Nebeker Company in 1866 to SLC Utah to meet her father who had traveled to Utah in 1862 and her brother Julius who had immigrated to Utah in 1864. The family moved to Bullionville sometime before the 1870 census that shows the family living there.
Phillipa had a sister, Josephine Anderson Beam who also lived in that area for many years.
