NEW PARIS, Ind., -- Ruby M. Etsinger, 78, 69000 C.R. 15, died at 10:50 a.m. Saturday at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa. She had lived there for 11 months.
She was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Wakarusa, to Arthur and Gertrude (Wise) Holderbaum.
She married Bud Etsinger Sr. June 6, 1947 in Wakarusa. He survives.
A lifetime area resident, she attended Wakarusa High School. She was a homemaker and a farmer and had worked at Miles Laboratories in Elkhart, Goshen College and Greencroft.
She was a member of Union Center Church of the Brethren and was a caregiver and visitation servant.
Along with her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Shirley (Larry) Etsinger-West, Indianapolis, Cheryl (Bill) Mattern, Nappanee, and Jackie (Kevin) Eby, Lexington, Ky.; a son, Bud (Vickie) Etsinger Jr., New Paris; nine grandchildren; four sisters, Marge Miller and Bonnie Smith, both of Goshen, and Wilma (Charles) Wenger and Jeannie (Everett Jr.) Whitehead, both of Wakarusa.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Wilhelm; a brother, Milo Holderbaum; a half-brother, Glenn Holderbaum and a half-sister, Fern Tavernier.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
Visitation will also be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday prior to the funeral service.
The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Union Center Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Otto Beer officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Ruth Yoder.
Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
