Francis James Allegretto was born in Portland. He attended Llewellyn Grade School, Washington High School, and Vanport College. Serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Francis was stationed in Guam.
After the war, he joined the U.S. Marines. Francis then began his career as a budget analyst for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
His wife, Dolores, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Bernetta; and brother, Richard.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
