Mary Juanita Anderson, 80, of Mendenhall, passed away Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at Magee General Hospital. Visitation was held from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, Magee. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 15 in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed at the Magee City Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee handled the arrangements.

Mary was a member of Goodwater Baptist Church, which she loved. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzels, sewing and cooking. Mary most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Bonnie (Guy) Berry of Magee, James William (Sandra) Anderson of Mendenhall, Maxine Eubanks of Magee, Mary Ann (Jimmy) Weathhersby of Mendenhall, John Thomas (Debbie) Anderson of Belden, Clara Hardy of Magee; 17 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sarah (Ollis) Roberts of Mt. Olive.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, John Madison Bynum and Mary Frances Jones Bynum; husband, James Elmer Anderson; children, Betty Jean Anderson and Sadie Louise West; grandchildren, Derek Weathersby and Jesse White; and brothers, Roy Lee Bynum and John Melton Bynum.

Serving as pallbearers were Jason Berry, Dwyane Eubanks, James Louis Anderson, David West, Michael Anderson, Tony Bishop. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Bynum, Michael Bynum and Paul Little.
