Teresa was born in Waco, Texas, to Loraine (Davis) and the late Virgil Earl Turbeville. In 1975, she graduated from McGregor High School, where she played clarinet in the Bulldog Band and was valedictorian of her class. She continued her education at McLennan Community College, where she earned her degree in nursing. She resided in Albuquerque, N.M. for nine years, working as a registered nurse. In 1989, she returned to Waco and continued nursing, most recently with Girling Health Care. On May 8, 1993, she married Johnnie Ray Uptmore in Las Vegas, Nev. Throughout her life, she devoted her time and energy to her family and those in need. She was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church in McGregor and was actively involved with the Church Under the Bridge in Waco. She also spent many hours volunteering for Mission Waco and sponsored four children in Haiti and Cambodia.
Preceding her in death was her father, Virgil Earl Turbeville.
Survivors include her husband, Johnnie; daughters, Sara Atkinson and fiancé, Reid Guess, of Austin and Carly Webb and husband, Cory, of Waco; grandchildren, Lucy Webb and Miles Webb; her mother, Loraine Turbeville; brother, Kenneth Turbeville and wife, Misti, of China Spring; sister, Sharon Humphrey and husband, Don, of Hewitt; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
