She was the youngest child of Shirley Earl and Lottie Rockwell Astin. She was married to Philip Hull August 23, 1936. Mable was a devoted and inspirational wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, active in bringing Girl Scouting to Janesville, and in supporting scouting over the last fifty years. She was accomplished in basketball, softball, golf, bowling, and bridge. Other enjoyments included fishing, organizing family activities, attending sporting events, and roaming North America in a motor home with her husband. She lived in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, and Marco Island and Naples, Florida. Survivors include her husband of 60 years; daughters, Rosetta (Joseph Hodge), Phyllis (Wayne Olson) and Nancy (Matthew Braden) of Janesville, Shirley Riley of West Des Moines, IA, and son, Terry (Jane Matheson) of Doylestown, PA; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Mable was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Rosetta and Gertrude; and brothers, Lawrence, Elmer, George, Leroy, and Lynn.
