Mrs. James was born in Cochran GA to the late Early Ernest Ross and Ida Tucker Ross, but had lived in Macon most of her life. She was a member of Doles United Methodist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Rufus E. James and a son-in-law, Larry Carter.
Survivors include her children Patricia James Carter, Janie Sue James Kaylor (Paul), Rufus Wesley James (Jerri); grandchildren, Nona Roland Bush (Charles), R. Wes James, Chan L. Kaylor, Shea J. Kaylor, Paul T. James, Cori D. James; great grandchildren, John L. Kaylor, and Peter R. Kaylor; several nieces and nephews.
