She spent her life working as bookkeeper and other office work. She had a great love for music and dedicated her piano playing talents by playing for her church. She married Jerome Smith, Sr. on August 20, 1940 in Moline. They had 3 sons, Jerome Jr., Daniel, and Larry. She enjoyed sewing, crochet and interior decorating. She also enjoyed her children, 10 grandchildren, sisters, and nieces and nephews.
