Golden Wedding Celebrants. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Darr of 711 Elfgen St., will be honored at an open house on Sunday, March 28, in observance of their golden wedding anniversary. The couple will receive their guests from 2 until 8 p.m. at the Steelworkers Hall on E. Broadway.
Mr. Darr is a retiree of Standard Oil company in Wood River. He and the former Margaret Elfgen were married on March 26, 1921 in Jerseyville. They are the parents of five children: Mary Margaret of Medora, Virgil of Fieldon, Bert and C. Robert of Godfrey, and Orville Jr. of Bethalto. There are 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
