Born in Newton Kansas, married Elsie Mae Lancaster on November 29, 1925. They had four children Ethel Mae Prouty, Helen Lois Prouty, MaryAlice Prouty & William Donald Prouty. All their children were born in Kansas they later moved to California.

I never knew my Grandfather Harold he passed before I was born. My mother told me her father was a hard worker and how he raised rabbits in the backyard during the depression so they would never be hungry. But when times required butchering one of his rabbits he would cry as he butchered it because he loved them so. He always kept a garden at home, having grown up on a farm he loved working in the soil. My Grandfather died of heart problems. My Grandmother who loved him so would never remarry. Saying she would rejoin him one day and had no need for another husband. My Grandfather was a Christian and active in the Church. I wish I could have known him. Rest in Peace Grandpa until that day we do get to meet.
