She was born July 20, 1898, in Adrian, to Henry and Edna McNight Chandler.
As a young girl she moved with her family to Erskine, where she grew up and attended school.
She married Robert O. Bailey, November 29, 1917, in Erskine.
The couple farmed in the Erskine area, and also ran resorts on Lake Sara and Union Lake, in rural Erskine.
Survivors include two sons: James of LaPorte, and Jack of Duluth; two daughters: Lucille Hanson of Langley, Washington, and Sarah Hartsock of Chariton, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren; three sisters: Carolyn Clowser of Bemidji, Lorraine Keeley of Minneapolis, and Irene Calihan of Mt. Prospect, Illinois.
