Daniel Miller Oglesby, 60, of 6568 Leah Justine Drive died Dec. 21, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Oglesby was born March 4, 1941, in McRae, Ga., a son of Floyd W. Oglesby Sr. and Fannie Mae Miller Oglesby.

He was employed at Luwa Bahnson, retiring in 2000. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

On Aug. 5, 1994, he married Patricia D. Smith, who survives of the home. Also surviving are four daughters, Tammy L. Oglesby and her husband, Kensi Kawakami of Jamestown, Tracy L. Cerrie of Dallas, Amy K. Oglesby of Jamestown and Jennifer L. Oglesby of Burlington; a stepdaughter, Tammy Nicholson and husband Terry of Kernersville; a stepson, Scott King of High Point; her mother, Fannie Mae Turner of Brunswick, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Danielle Cerrie and Ryan Nicholson.

Graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Floral Garden Park Cemetery by Dr. Robert E. Williams. Arrangements by Sechrest Funeral Home, Archdale Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army, 301 W. Greene Drive, High Point, NC 27260; or to Love Line, 601 N. Elm St., High Point, NC 27262.
