Janice Stephens Adams

Friday, September 7, 2001

Janice Stephens Adams, 52, our loving and adorable mom, passed away in her sleep at her home September 5, 2001.
She was born July 3, 1949 in San Francisco, CA., the daughter of George Sylvan Stephens M.D. and Glenna Mac-Farlane.
She married John William Adams Jr.; later divorced. Janice graduated from BYU in 1974 with a degree in Special Education. At the time of her death she was teaching at Vista Elementary School in Taylorsville, Utah; she also taught at several elementary schools in Las Vegas, Nevada for nine years. She served an LDS Mission 1970-72 in the Swiss Geneva Mission and continued as an active member of the LDS Church. Janice loved her profession. She demonstrated compassion, possessed a unique sense of humor and was loved by all of her friends.
Survivors: children, Meredith Lindsay Jensen (Tyler), Provo, Utah; John William Adams Jr. (Amy), Albuquerque, N.M.; Nathan Sylvan Adams, Livermore, CA. Preceded in death by parents; one sister, Cathy Staska.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at 3 p.m. in the Crescent 30th Ward 11000 So. 85 E. The family will greet friends and family at the church on Saturday from 2-3 p.m. Interment will take place later at the Lone Tree Cemetery in Hayward, California.
