Mrs Emma ANDERSON MECHLIN, 89, of 18 W Clark St died at 4 am Saturday in the City Hospital following four weeks of serious illness. She was admitted to the hospital on Oct 17. Mrs Mechlin, the widow of James C Mechlin, who died in March, 1942, was the granddaughter of pioneer Springfield residents and had resided here all her life. She was a member of Central Methodist Church for the past 75 years and was active in the YWCA and Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs Grace SPARLING of Toledo and Mrs Ruth CULP and Miss Nancy MECHLIN of Springfield; one son Henry of Osborn, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The body was removed to the Littleton Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 3:30 pm Monday by the Rev Warren W Wiant, DD. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
