Oklahoma. Sisters, Mrs. Bertha Lee and
Mrs. Laura Puckett, both in Oklahoma,
and Mrs. Ruth Wilson and Mrs.Jennie
Townsend, both of California. Numerous
nieces and nephews. Member of The
Baptist Church. Funeral will be at

A former Texan, Dossie Bates, 64, of Washougal died Friday, January 28 in Vancouver. Services were held Tuesday, February 1st, at Brown's-Stroller Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Layton Rogers officiating. Interment was in Fern Prairie Cemetery.
Born in Bowie, Texas, April 16, 1912, he had lived in Washougal the past year, and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Edith; two sons, Jimmy, Smith, CA, Eddie of Washougal, four daughters, Barbara Stump of Washougal; Eunice Welcher, and Mary Jo Batten, both of Camas, and Vickie Sue Menefee, New Mexico; 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, Wilson Bates, Johnny Bates, and Claude Bates, all of Oklahoma, and 4 sisters, Bertha Lee, Laura Ruckett, both in OK; and Ruth Wilson and Jennie Townsend, both in California.
